
For beginning Paddy Field is one of the easier maps to understand, packing a good balance of space, zones, engagement areas, and intensity, as compared to maps like Mud Fight with its desperate pitched fighting for the middle town, Nuclear Winter is Coming with its huge breadth and numerous engagement zones to cover, Tropic Thunder with its heterogenous urban cover in the middle which makes advancing difficult, or the bloody attrition warfare of Strait to the Port or Death Row. Paddy Field in Wargame: Red Dragon was one of my favorite 1v1 maps when I first started to seriously play.

With the announcement of the Israeli army DLC, Eugen also announced the ongoing work of a third DLC: Double Nation Pack: REDS, this time introducing Yugoslavia and Finland into the game as USSR allies.If you play Wargame: Red Dragon, you will recognize that Paddyfield 1v1 is just Paddyfield 3v1 but flipped on its side and with the command zones rearranged. Unique Israeli Army equipment, most notably the Merkava tank is now available in game alongside many other examples of the Israeli arsenal.

On JEugen Systems announced that the Israeli Defence Forces would become the second downloadable faction for the game. Unique Dutch vehicles such as the DAF YP-408 and the DAF YP-104, as well as a mix of British, French, German and American units licensed for Dutch use bring the total units available in game up to 1700. ExpansionsĪs of the Armed Forces of the Netherlands became a downloadable playable faction for the game. Other ways of losing include running out of units and having less points than the enemy at the end of the battle. They will lose the game if they possess no units with which to capture a deployment zone.

If such a point is lost, the player will be unable to call in reinforcements until it is re-secured. The player can choose from infantry, various forms of armored units, air forces, and naval forces, with further customization available, e.g. The player can decide which units they want to deploy before a battle, creating a deck of specific individual units.

The battlefield is viewed from a top-down perspective, giving the player an overview of the action. The game's time frame features units from 1975 to 1991. Wargame: Red Dragon features military forces from 21 Western and Asian countries such as Germany, France, China and Russia.
